About Mimi

Mimi is the Midland’s most popular and stylish boudoir photography service. Since Ursula opened her first studio in 2002 we have photographed hundreds of women of all ages, shapes and sizes and captured their true beauty on film.

Purpose

To experience the joy of providing all women with the opportunity to look and feel amazing through photography.

Mimi’s creative director is the award-winning photographer Ursula Kelly. Ursula won:

• The 2008 & 2007 Master Photographer Association’s overall East Midlands Photographer Of The Year award.
• The 2009, 2008 & 2007 East Midlands Glamour, Fashion and Avant Garde Portrait Photographer Of The Year award categories.
• Mimi also received a photography nominee award at the Nottingham Creative Business Awards in 2007.
  
  

Background

Since graduating in 1997 with a degree in photography, Ursula has focussed her passion on portraiture. In 2002 she opened her first professional photography studio in Nottingham. Since then she has been lucky enough meet and photograph some well known personalities, including Sir Bob Geldof, Sir Paul Smith and the well loved British actress Julie Walters.

Why Mimi

Due to programs such as How To Look Good Naked and What Not To Wear, Ursula saw a change in the kind of photographs her clients were requesting. A large number of these requests were from women wanting to have a photograph taken of themselves, alone as a piece of art. There were also ladies eager to experience a professional makeover and photography session for themselves or to have a set of boudoir style photos to give to their partners as a gift.

Ursula says, “I had always really enjoyed photographing women. I loved seeing how the photos I took of them gave a huge boost to their self-esteem. It was from here that the idea for Mimi was born. A huge part of the experience is about pampering the client and ensuring that they feel relaxed so they have a truly a fantastic experience. With this in mind, I relocated to new premises and worked alongside an Interior Designer on an extensive refurbishment to create the right studio space for Mimi."

Ursula is supported by a female-only team of professional stylists, make-up artists and hairstylists. Together the Mimi team help you create the look you want in discrete, comfortable and relaxing surroundings.
